🌍 About the Role
As a Proposal and Grants Manager I, you will be responsible for developing accurate investigator grant estimates for global clinical studies. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders—including strategy, delivery, operations, and medical affairs—to build competitive and compliant budgets for proposals and RFPs.
Your work ensures that clinical study budgets remain cost-effective, transparent, and aligned with sponsor requirements.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities – Investigator Grants Estimates
- Develop detailed investigator grant cost estimates at the RFP stage.
- Use Grant Plan and historical data to prepare realistic, competitive budgets.
- Align grant budgets with study protocols, timelines, and scope.
- Revise estimates as study details evolve.
- Benchmark costs using previous studies to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with sponsor specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior team members when required.
Secondary Responsibilities – Budget Development
- Lead end-to-end RFP/RFI budget creation and submission.
- Analyze proposal documents and coordinate with internal experts across functions.
- Manage timelines, internal calls, and deliverables to ensure on-time submissions.
- Ensure full compliance with client, proposal, and QC guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date budget templates and costing databases.
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
🎓 Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Science, Finance, or related discipline).
- Equivalent experience in clinical research, pharma, or biotech may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in Clinical Research, Pharmaceutical, or Biotech industry.
- At least 5 years in grants and budget development.
- Strong financial acumen and cost forecasting abilities.
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel and grant management tools (e.g., Grants.gov, eRA Commons).
- Strong understanding of clinical trial budgeting structures (investigator fees, patient care costs, indirect rates).
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with cost accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
