Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Data Associate

As a Clinical Data Associate I / II, you will play a crucial role in managing clinical trial data from study start-up to post-database lock. Here are the essential functions of the job:

  1. Data Management Support:
    • Assist in database development, testing, and maintenance.
    • Perform data entry and quality control for paper-CRF studies.
    • Develop CRF specifications and ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated.
  2. Database Management:
    • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for database builds.
    • Create and maintain data management documentation.
  3. Data Review and Query Resolution:
    • Review and query clinical trial data as per the Data Management Plan.
    • Perform medical coding to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Liaise with third-party vendors and project teams.
    • Train clinical research personnel on EDC systems and CRFs.
  5. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Run patient and study-level status reports.
    • Assist with SAS programming and quality control.

Qualifications for Clinical Data Associate I / II

Minimum Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years in clinical data management or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills.
