Alcon, a global leader in eye care, is seeking an Associate II, Patient Safety & Experience (Non-MD) to join our team in Bangalore, India. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and quality of Alcon’s products by monitoring, assessing, and reporting adverse events and quality complaints in compliance with global regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Case Processing:
- Review and process case files following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with affiliate offices to gather necessary data for complaint records.
- Accurately assign event codes and maintain records in the safety database.
- Prepare and submit initial and follow-up reports based on received information.
- Respond to Manufacturing QA requests and Health Authority inquiries.
- Initiate quality investigations and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
Compliance & Knowledge Management:
- Adhere to corporate compliance guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain expertise in:
- Alcon’s product portfolio (including Intra Ocular Lenses – IOLs).
- Eye anatomy, diseases, and ophthalmic procedures.
- Medical device vigilance and pharmacovigilance regulations.
- Support audit and reconciliation activities as needed.
- Escalate potential safety concerns to management.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Science
- Preferred:Â Optometry, Pharm-D, M.Pharm, BDS, BAMS, BHMS
Experience:
- 0-2 years in healthcare, pharmacovigilance, medical coding, or regulatory submissions.
- Optometry graduates with 0-1 year of experience are also eligible.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations (national & international).
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety databases.
- Fluency in English (written & spoken).
