Job Role: Medical Coding Analyst – HCC

Optum is currently hiring Medical Coding Analysts for Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding at its Noida office. The role involves accurate medical coding of patient records to support healthcare planning and reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Coding Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Assigning ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes to inpatient and outpatient records with 95% accuracy.
  • Identifying and abstracting medical records in compliance with departmental guidelines.
  • Participating in coding meetings and education conferences to maintain high coding standards.
  • Meeting productivity and quality benchmarks for medical coding.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in work hours when required.
  • Engaging in conference calls and discussions to provide insights related to coding.

Qualifications & Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Requirement: Any Graduate (Diploma holders are not eligible).
  • Experience: 0 to 5 years of experience in medical coding (Certified Freshers can apply).
  • Certification Requirement: Must hold a valid medical coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA. Acceptable certifications include:
    • CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
    • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
    • CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder)
    • COC (Certified Outpatient Coder)
  • Candidates must provide proof of certification along with a valid certification identification number during the interview/offer process.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medical record coding.
  • Ability to meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to flexible work schedules.

Job Location & Work Mode

  • Location: Noida
  • Work Mode: Work from Office (No Remote Work Available)
  • Work Days: 5 Days a Week
