Key Responsibilities in the Job
As a Trainee Research Associate – Synthesis, you will play a pivotal role in the discovery and development of novel chemical entities. Your responsibilities include:
- Synthesizing, purifying, and characterizing chemical intermediates.
- Delivering quantities of chemical compounds ranging from small to large scales for drug discovery initiatives.
- Collaborating effectively within a team to advance ongoing chemistry projects.
- Demonstrating strong knowledge in:
- Basic organic chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms.
- Functional group transformations and name reactions.
- Analytical techniques, including NMR, IR, and mass spectrometry.
- Applying hands-on experience in thin-layer chromatography, column purification, and extractions.
- Adhering to laboratory safety practices while exhibiting a proactive attitude toward learning and adapting in a dynamic research environment.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related fields. Alternatively, M.Pharm with a specialization in Organic Synthesis.
- Experience: 0-1 year of relevant project experience.
