Roles & Responsibilities

In this position, you’ll support essential microbiological activities to maintain high standards of quality and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting environmental monitoring of classified areas and performing water testing, including Bioburden, BET (Bacterial Endotoxin Test), and Sterility testing.
  • Preparing media for utility and area monitoring requirements.
  • Performing sub-culturing, serial dilutions of standard cultures, Growth Promotion Testing (GPT), and identification of isolates.
  • Sampling and testing water samples as per protocols.
  • Determining population of Biological Indicators.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment such as pH meters, balances (with daily calibration), Autoclaves, Dry Heat Sterilizers (DHS), incubators, air samplers, and particle counters.
  • Reporting any deviations, Out of Specifications (OOS) results, or safety risks to the supervisor immediately.
  • Familiarity with cGMP requirements, including Change Control, Deviations, OOS handling, sample management, stability studies, and investigation tools.
  • Conducting qualification of equipment like Autoclave, DHS, Incubator, and others.
  • Performing compressed air sampling and analysis.
  • Ensuring overall cGMP compliance and keeping the laboratory audit-ready at all times.

This role provides excellent learning in a regulated pharma setting, perfect for building a strong foundation in QC microbiology.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Post Graduation (M.Sc.) in Microbiology or Biotechnology from a recognized university.
  • Experience: 0 to 2 years in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech industry (freshers are encouraged to apply).
  • Competencies: Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, attention to detail, ability to work in cleanroom environments, good documentation practices, and awareness of cGMP/GLP guidelines.

Candidates should be proactive, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute to team goals in a fast-paced facility.
