Job Responsibilities
As a Junior Executive in the Discovery Chemistry – Operations department, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring overnight reactions to ensure smooth lab operations
- Overseeing hydrogenation lab reactions after general working hours
- Preparing and filling inorganic chemicals relevant to laboratory activities
- Supplying oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, and ammonia cylinders to lab scientists as needed
- Handling toxic material quenching and ensuring safe disposal
- Transporting quenching materials to designated stations
- Monitoring and recording cold room temperatures in the lab
- Supervising fresh solvent filling activities
- Attending to emergency situations that arise due to unexpected incidents
- Ensuring lab instruments and equipment are switched off when not in use
- Preparing scrubber solutions for column hoods, walk-in hoods, HTS labs, and ADC labs
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, chemical handling, or research support
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of chemical reactions and lab safety procedures
- Ability to monitor and manage overnight lab operations
- Knowledge of handling and disposing of hazardous materials
- Proficiency in operating lab equipment and maintaining records
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
