Key Responsibilities:
As a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate in Discovery Chemistry, you will play a vital role in the synthesis and characterization of target molecules. Key responsibilities include:
- Synthetic Route Design: Plan and design synthetic routes for target molecules using your expertise in organic chemistry.
- Multi-step Organic Synthesis: Execute complex, multi-step organic reactions, handling reactions at milligram to gram scale.
- Compound Characterization: Characterize organic compounds using various spectroscopic and related techniques to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Literature Search: Perform detailed literature searches using scientific databases like SciFinder to inform synthetic strategies and identify potential solutions to synthetic challenges.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and find innovative solutions to any issues that arise during the research process.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including electronic laboratory notebooks (eLNB), ensuring data integrity and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or M.Pharm in Medicinal Chemistry.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of experience in organic synthesis, with expertise in handling multi-step reactions and a strong understanding of characterization techniques.
