As a Journal Support Specialist, you’ll work with global editorial teams, support authors and reviewers, and contribute to process improvements using Six Sigma methodologies — ensuring smooth journal operations and world-class customer service.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
- Provide second-level journal support and resolve complex author and editor queries.
- Conduct quality and accuracy checks on first-level support (BPO) work.
- Maintain updated knowledge of editorial workflows and peer review systems.
- Participate in departmental projects, policy updates, and system testing.
- Develop and improve self-help resources and internal support articles.
- Apply Six Sigma principles to identify and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and Springer Nature policies.
- Build strong collaborations with internal stakeholders and support teams.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
Education:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline.
Experience:
- 1–5 years in publishing, editorial operations, or customer service.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Knowledge of publishing workflows and peer review systems.
- Analytical thinking and logical reasoning.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with SAP preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
