Job Overview
The Medical Surveillance Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the medical monitoring of clinical studies, which includes:
- Monitoring clinical laboratory data.
- Composing detailed medical narratives.
- Interfacing with investigator sites to ensure compliance with study protocols and the safety of subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Monitoring: Regularly review and evaluate laboratory results from a designated central laboratory.
- Data Analysis: Conduct periodic analyses of laboratory data from the sponsor’s data management platform.
- Preliminary Review: Compare current lab results against protocol-specific reference ranges, identifying significant changes and contacting investigator sites as necessary.
- Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between the Medical Services Department, the sponsor-designated laboratory, and the IQVIA project team.
- Trend Identification: Detect trends or significant shifts in lab results and notify IQVIA Medical Advisors.
- Team Interaction: Engage with project teams to share critical information that may influence study objectives.
- Project Support: Assist the Lead Medical Surveillance Specialist with project setup and participate in team meetings.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with laboratory practices through ongoing education or attending relevant seminars.
