Roles and Responsibilities

As a Research Associate in API Synthesis, you will play a key role in end-to-end process development. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting literature surveys and proposing viable synthetic routes using tools such as SciFinder, Reaxys, and related databases.
• Leading process development activities for new and existing APIs, with a strong focus on laboratory synthesis, optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up.
• Identifying and implementing innovative, robust, and cost-effective synthetic routes and process improvements.
• Executing lab-scale reactions, optimization studies, and troubleshooting processes with emphasis on yield, safety, scalability, and stability.
• Performing impurity profiling, impurity synthesis, and supporting route optimization as required.
• Strictly adhering to cGLP guidelines and laboratory safety norms while ensuring cost efficiency.

The role demands hands-on experience in organic synthesis and a commitment to quality in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry (preferably Organic Chemistry).
• Experience: 5-7 years in API synthesis and process development (R&D).
• Strong knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry, route scouting, process optimization, and scale-up.
• Familiarity with analytical tools and interpretation for process troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, innovative R&D setting.
