Job Responsibilities

As a Certified Oncology Medical Coder, your primary responsibility will be to accurately code medical records and reports related to oncology and haematology. You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure that all medical data is correctly captured, classified, and billed in compliance with relevant coding guidelines. Specifically, your duties will include:

• Reviewing and analyzing patient records for accurate diagnosis and procedure coding.
• Assigning appropriate medical codes (ICD, CPT, HCPCS) for oncology and haematology services.
• Utilizing eClinicalWorks (ECW) for managing medical records and coding.
• Ensuring all coded data meets HIPAA regulations and is submitted in a timely manner.
• Collaborating with the billing department to resolve any coding-related issues or discrepancies.
• Participating in regular audits to maintain coding accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Certification: Must be a certified coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification).
• Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of coding experience, particularly in oncology and haematology.
• ECW Proficiency: Experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW) software is essential.
• Work-from-Home Setup: Must have access to a personal laptop and Wi-Fi connection to perform remote duties effectively.
• Attention to Detail: A high level of precision and attention to detail in medical coding is required.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
