Responsibilities in the Job
As a Literature Specialist in the Medical and Clinical division, your core activities will include:
- Supporting Global Safety Literature Screening:
- Screen and review literature for Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSR) and signal detection.
- Identify articles with relevant safety information for GSK’s marketed and developmental products.
- Performing Pharmacovigilance Literature Surveillance:
- Analyze articles, abstracts, and citations to extract key safety information.
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and processes.
- Deliverables and Documentation:
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
- Manage master drug lists and perform quality checks for triaged literature articles.
- Collaborate with Signal Evaluation Risk Management (SERM) specialists for product-specific reviews.
- Demonstrating GSK Values:
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and foster teamwork in a matrixed environment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the role of Literature Specialist, you need the following:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Pharmacology.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or higher in Health Sciences.
- Experience:
- 2 to 4 years in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in drug safety, regulatory affairs, or medical affairs.
- Working knowledge of pharmacovigilance regulations and methodologies.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in scientific and medical terminology.
- Attention to detail with a strong ability to evaluate data and draw conclusions.
