The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has announced its Internship Scheme 2024 for the October 2025 batch.
This prestigious internship program offers hands-on learning opportunities in food safety, nutrition, law, IT, business management, and public health. Selected interns will get exposure to real-time projects that shape India’s food safety ecosystem.

📌 Key Responsibilities
Selected interns will:
- Work with FSSAI divisions such as Human Resource, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Science & Standards, Imports, and Legal.
- Participate in projects at National Food Laboratories (Ghaziabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Raxaul) focusing on food sampling and testing.
- Assist in research, analysis, documentation, and policy-related work.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and contribute to knowledge management.
- Gain exposure to the food regulation and safety administration ecosystem of India.
🎓 Eligibility & Qualifications
Students currently enrolled in full-time graduate or postgraduate programs from recognized universities in India or abroad may apply. Eligible streams include:
- Food & Science Fields: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Nutrition, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Toxicology, Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture, Life Sciences, Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
- Business & Management: MBA/PG in HR, Marketing, Finance, Policy, Economics, Statistics, ICT, Entrepreneurship. (HQ only)
- Media & Communication: PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, PR.
- Law: LLB/LLM (HQ only)
- Public Policy & Administration: PG Diploma/Degree (HQ only)
- Computer Science & IT: B.E./B.Tech (3rd & 4th year students only).
- Library Science & Information Studies (HQ only).
❌ Students who have already completed their courses are not eligible.
💰 Stipend & Benefits
- Stipend: ₹10,000 for the entire internship (based on attendance, performance, and final report evaluation).
- Certificate: Issued upon successful completion and approval of project work.
- Facilities: Access to office infrastructure, internet, and mentorship from FSSAI experts.
- Duration: Minimum 2 months, extendable up to 6 months.
