The Medical Transcriptionist will play an essential role in converting healthcare practitioners’ audio recordings into written reports and documentation. This position involves a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in processing patient information and maintaining healthcare records.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings from doctors and healthcare providers into electronic documents.
- Ensure accuracy in patient details, diagnoses, treatment plans, and other medical data.
- Edit and proofread transcripts to correct errors and ensure consistency with medical standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to clarify medical terms or discrepancies in transcriptions.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other patient privacy regulations.
- Meet strict turnaround times and ensure the timely submission of reports.
Qualifications
- Degree Level: Graduate (any discipline).
- Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, abbreviations, and healthcare documentation is preferred.
- Typing Skills: Excellent typing speed and attention to detail.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with transcription software and tools.
- Language Skills: Strong English proficiency, including grammar and punctuation.
- Experience: Previous experience in medical transcription is an advantage but not mandatory.
