Core Purpose of the Role
The primary focus of the Research Associate will be the synthesis of peptides ranging from milligram to multi-gram scales, along with the maintenance of all peptide synthesis and related equipment.
Role Accountabilities
The Research Associate will be responsible for the following:
- Peptide Chemistry Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in synthetic peptide chemistry, including the synthesis of long-chain, branched, labeled, disulfide, lactam, and head-to-tail cyclized peptides.
- Independent Synthesis: Conduct solid-phase peptide synthesis and characterization using HPLC and LCMS independently.
- Operational Planning: Plan and execute daily operations in the peptide synthesis lab, identifying synthetic routes for conformationally constrained and derivatized peptides.
- Protocol Development: Prepare protocols, guidelines, and SOPs for laboratory equipment, instruments, and processes.
- Safety and Compliance: Understand and adhere to safety, health, and environmental systems and processes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with Syngene’s quality standards and monitor team adherence to these standards.
Educational Qualification
- Required: M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology.
