Job Responsibilities
As a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate in In-vivo Pharmacology, you will play a critical role in advancing our drug discovery programs. Your contributions will include:
- Collaborating closely with discovery specialists, disease area scientists, and in vivo team members.
- Conducting in vivo efficacy and mechanistic studies for novel chemical entities (NCEs).
- Establishing and validating new in vivo disease models, physiologically relevant endpoints, and biomarkers.
- Performing data analysis using statistical methods and delivering results promptly to inform decisions.
- Recording experimental data and observations in company-specified formats.
- Preparing and presenting scientific materials for internal and external use.
- Participating in cross-functional team activities and contributing innovative ideas to research projects.
- Learning and applying knowledge from leading drug discovery scientists worldwide.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Educational Background: M.Pharm, Ph.D, MSc /M.S in Pharmacology with 0-5 years of experience in academic or industrial R&D settings.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and physiology; experience with in vivo disease model development, validation, and testing.
- Practical Skills: Small animal handling, dosing via various routes, dissections, tissue harvesting, and biomarker evaluations (qPCR, WB, ELISA).
- Drug Discovery Knowledge: A foundational understanding of the drug discovery process.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Work Ethic: A scientific curiosity coupled with a “can-do, will-do” attitude.
- Technical Tools: Familiarity with electronic lab notebook systems is a plus.
