Responsibilities
As a Senior Chemist, JRA, or RA at Daicel Chiral Technologies, you will:
- Conduct multi-step organic synthesis on gram to multi-gram scales for pharmaceutical applications.
- Perform peptide synthesis using solution and solid-phase techniques, handling reactions from milligrams to kilogram scales.
- Execute purification processes including column chromatography, reverse-phase (RP) and normal-phase (NP) purification, flash purification, recrystallization, and preparative TLC.
- Prepare and handle dry organic solvents for high-precision experiments.
- Utilize software tools like ChemDraw, MS Word, MS Excel, and SciFinder/Reaxys for research and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in chiral technology and pharmaceutical development.
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with industry protocols.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should have:
- MSc in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry from a recognized institution.
- 1-5 years of experience in organic synthesis or peptide synthesis in a pharmaceutical or research setting.
