Job Summary:
The Associate Research Scientist will independently lead the planning and execution of product development initiatives, including new product launches, relaunches, and growth projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the product life cycle, including pilot plant operations and technology transfer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Formulation Development:
- Lead pilot plant operations and ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and test new formulations, aging studies, and maintain proper record-keeping and documentation.
- Provide support for margin improvement programs to optimize business outcomes.
- Apply statistical methods for experimental design to enhance learning with minimal resources.
- New Product Development:
- Develop innovative products, technologies, and solutions based on consumer insights.
- Lead product development projects from conceptualization to execution.
- Apply scientific knowledge to problem-solving, troubleshooting, and innovation.
- Supplier Qualification:
- Lead programs for the qualification of raw and packaging materials.
- Support packaging material qualification programs.
- Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with commercial and supply chain functions to drive sustainable business growth.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Global Technology Centers.
- Organizational Development:
- Mentor and coach trainees/interns to enhance their performance.
- Contribute to building a future-ready agile organization by leveraging Colgate’s performance management process.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, or Technology.
- Experience: Proven experience in R&D, ideally within the FMCG sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in FMCG, particularly in Oral Care or Personal Care.
