This Clinical Data Abstractor job in Bengaluru is ideal for professionals from Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, or AYUSH backgrounds with exposure to oncology trial data.
🔬 Key Responsibilities – Clinical Data Abstractor
The selected candidate will:
- Screen oncology patient cases for clinical trial eligibility using inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Review electronic medical records (EMR) and extract trial-relevant oncology data.
- Interpret diagnostic reports including pathology, imaging, biomarkers, and staging.
- Abstract adverse events, medications, hospitalizations, and disease progression data.
- Maintain oncology data dictionaries and support study build workflows.
- Perform second-level and QC reviews of medical records.
- Act as an oncology subject-matter expert across solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
- Collaborate with operations and cross-functional teams to resolve data queries.
This role demands strong expertise in:
- TNM classification
- Histological classification of solid tumors (breast, lung, GI, GU, gynecological cancers)
- Hematologic cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma)
- Biomarkers and tumor markers
- Mechanism of action of chemotherapy
- Types of cancer therapies
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- B.Sc Nursing
- BDS / MDS
- BAMS / BHMS
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months experience in clinical data abstraction or patient treatment-related data.
- Oncology clinical trial data review experience preferred.
- Certification in Clinical Research or Clinical Data Management (preferred).
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of oncology across the care continuum.
- Medical terminology expertise.
- EMR navigation and clinical documentation review.
- High attention to detail and regulatory compliance awareness.
- MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
