Position Overview: Associate Modeling Scientist
As part of our Product Development (PD) Strategy group, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) development through cutting-edge modeling, AI/ML, and digital strategies. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in data science, programming, and predictive modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Predictive Models: Collaborate with data scientists and scientific experts to build and optimize predictive models that accelerate process development and support portfolio decisions.
- Data Collection & Curation: Collect, clean, and organize data from diverse sources, including electronic notebooks, spreadsheets, and instrument files.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across drug substance, drug product, and analytical functions, as well as IT partners, to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Leverage cutting-edge tools and techniques to solve complex business challenges and improve decision-making.
- Communication: Effectively communicate analytical results and insights to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, attend conferences, and engage with the external data science community to bring fresh ideas to the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and statistical software (e.g., R, Tableau, Spotfire).
- Experience with platforms like AWS, GitHub, SAP HANA, Hadoop, or Redshift is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and experience interpreting analytical results.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work in cross-functional, matrix teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, or dbt.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in pharmaceutical development.
- Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
