Job Description
Bayer’s Crop Science Division is seeking a Jr. Process Development Scientist to join the Chemical Development Team in Vapi, Gujarat. This role focuses on route scouting, chemical process development, and optimization for Bayer’s existing and pipeline crop protection agents.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Conduct process chemistry research, including synthetic route invention and manufacturing process development for agrochemical solutions.
✔ Perform experiments for route scouting, process optimization, safety evaluation, and high-throughput screening.
✔ Assist in developing safe, cost-effective, and scalable synthetic processes for crop protection agents.
✔ Work closely with analytical chemists, process engineers, and pilot plant teams to ensure smooth scale-up of chemical processes.
✔ Maintain Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) documentation and adhere to EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) protocols.
✔ Stay updated with latest advancements in synthetic chemistry and apply innovative solutions to process development challenges.
✔ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Who You Are:
✅ M.Sc/M.Pharm in Organic Chemistry with 0-3 years of hands-on lab experience.
✅ Strong expertise in modern synthetic methodologies, reaction mechanisms, and retrosynthesis.
✅ Familiarity with analytical techniques (HPLC, NMR, Mass Spectroscopy) for small molecule characterization.
✅ Ability to work in shifts and thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment.
✅ A proactive learner with excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
✅ Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and agricultural science.
