Responsibilities in the Job
As a Research Associate I at Baxter, the main responsibility is to provide hands-on analytical research and development support in the laboratory, focusing on Extractable and Leachable testing within the Renalcare R&D activities. Some of the key tasks include:
- Method Development & Validation: Execute experiments related to method development, method validation, and qualification for new product development and sustaining product projects.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside senior members of the team to prepare samples for analysis and operate advanced analytical instruments.
- Laboratory Instrumentation: Operate and maintain chromatographic and spectrometric instruments, such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, and Mass Spectrometry.
- Innovative Solutions: Analyze research problems and propose solutions to improve methods and products.
- Compliance & Documentation: Follow regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, ISO) and document laboratory work in accordance with Baxter’s GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to enhancing lab capabilities by recommending new analytical techniques and practices to boost productivity.
- Safety & Environmental Compliance: Adhere to Baxter’s Quality Manual and Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills

- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific field, such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Hands-on experience in analytical techniques including HPLC, UPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry, UV-Vis, FTIR, and other chromatographic/spectrometric techniques.
