Responsibilities:
- Accurately code medical records for the emergency department.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable coding guidelines and regulations.
- Review and verify documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in ED facility coding.
- Relevant certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC,COS,CIC,CCS,COC).
- Strong understanding of coding guidelines, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers and other team members.
