Roles & Responsibilities

Microbiological Testing & Sampling

• Perform microbiological sampling and analysis of:
  • Raw materials (RM)
  • Packaging materials (PM)
  • In-process samples (IP)
  • Finished products (FP)
  • Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) samples
• Conduct testing as per AN methods and BIS standards

Pathogen & Microbial Analysis

• Test for organisms such as:
  • Salmonella
  • Enterobacter sakazakii
  • Escherichia coli
  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Listeria monocytogenes
  • Shigella
  • Coliforms
  • Yeast & mold
  • Total bacterial count

Lab Operations & Compliance

• Prepare and sterilize microbiological media
• Perform growth promotion testing
• Maintain accurate documentation following GDP & GLP
• Ensure proper record keeping for EMP, RM, IP, FP samples

Equipment & Maintenance

• Conduct routine calibration and verification of lab instruments
• Support validation, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities

Safety & Quality

• Handle decontamination of biohazard waste
• Maintain 6S standards in the microbiology lab
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety Management Systems

Manufacturing Support

• Provide microbiological support across:
  • Wet processing
  • Evaporator
  • Dryer
  • Dry blending
  • Water systems

Required Qualifications

Education

• Postgraduate in Microbiology / Dairy Microbiology

Experience

• 5 to 10 years in:
  • Food industry / Pharma / Equivalent industry

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with:
  • BAM, APHA, AOAC, BIS methods
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Microbiological lab procedures
  • Equipment operation
  • QA checks (RM, PM, IP, FP, EMP)
  • GLP & safety practices
