Roles & Responsibilities
Nutraceutical Formulation Development
- Develop formulations for tablets and capsules including multivitamins, minerals, and herbal products
- Conduct pre-formulation studies such as excipient compatibility and characterization
- Optimize formulation challenges like compressibility, flow, and dissolution
- Handle taste masking and bioavailability enhancement strategies
Process Development & Scale-Up
- Work on granulation, blending, compression, and coating processes
- Lead scale-up activities and technology transfer to manufacturing sites
- Prepare MFRs, BMRs, and validation protocols
Analytical & Stability Studies
- Define product specifications including assay, dissolution, and moisture content
- Conduct stability studies as per ICH guidelines
- Ensure product quality throughout shelf life
Probiotics Development
- Work on strain selection, stabilization, and formulation design
- Apply techniques like lyophilization and microencapsulation
- Develop probiotic dosage forms including tablets, capsules, and sachets
Regulatory & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI and global regulatory frameworks
- Prepare technical documentation and support regulatory submissions
- Collaborate with QA, QC, manufacturing, and regulatory teams
Required Qualifications
- Education: M.Pharm / M.Sc / M.Tech in Pharmaceutics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences
- Experience: 5–10+ years in nutraceutical and probiotic formulation development
Key Skills
- Expertise in tablet and capsule formulation
- Strong knowledge of pre-formulation and scale-up processes
- Understanding of stability studies and packaging interactions
- Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills
