Key Responsibilities
The Medical Data Abstractor will perform clinical data review and abstraction tasks related to patient medical records and research databases.
Medical Record Review & Data Abstraction
- Access electronic medical record (EMR) systems and healthcare databases.
- Review patient charts, diagnostic reports, pathology reports, and treatment details.
- Extract relevant clinical data and enter it into designated data systems.
Clinical Data Analysis
- Identify and categorize adverse events, hospitalization details, medication history, and treatment outcomes.
- Ensure accurate capture of disease-specific medical data for healthcare analytics projects.
Oncology & Therapeutic Area Data
- Abstract oncology-related clinical information including diagnosis, treatment protocols, and follow-up outcomes.
- Support projects involving cardiovascular, immunology, metabolic diseases, and other therapeutic areas.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Participate in abstractor meetings and training sessions.
- Share clinical knowledge and project-specific guidelines with other team members.
- Respond to queries from Lead Data Abstractor and Operations Managers.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high data accuracy and consistency.
- Follow project guidelines and healthcare data abstraction protocols.
- Support eligibility review of medical records for research projects.
Required Qualifications
Education
Candidates must have a healthcare or medical background, such as:
- BDS
- MDS (Oral Pathology / Oral Medicine / Public Health Dentistry)
- B.Sc Nursing
- M.Sc Nursing
- Ayurveda / Homeopathy or other medical education backgrounds
Experience
- 0–4 years of experience in healthcare data, clinical documentation, or medical record review.
- Experience in medical data abstraction, clinical data management, or oncology projects is preferred.
