Key Responsibilities – Medical Editor II (Quality Check)
As a Medical Editor II, you will be responsible for high-quality scientific and editorial QC across multiple deliverables:
- Perform data integrity and content QC reviews for medical writing deliverables
- Review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, extracts, tables, figures, and slide decks
- Cross-check scientific content against cited references for medical accuracy and neutrality
- Ensure alignment with approved product labels, source data, and branding guidelines
- Verify one-to-one citation accuracy between in-text citations and reference lists
- Ensure compliance with AMA style, internal style guides, and journal/congress requirements
- Maintain compliance with FDA, EU, ICH, and industry guidelines
- Copyedit documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting accuracy
- Support medical writing teams by providing editorial feedback and QC insights
- Participate in internal and client-facing discussions to resolve review comments
- Monitor timelines and escalate risks related to deliverables, budgets, or deadlines
Eligibility & Qualification Requirements
To be considered for this Medical Editor II (QC) job in India, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in:
- Life Sciences
- Clinical Sciences
- English / Journalism
- Or equivalent experience in medical editing, copyediting, or data QC
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Editor (ME) experience
- Strong experience in scientific QC and data/content review
- Familiarity with AMA Style Guide (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of FDA, EU, ICH regulations and publication standards
- High attention to detail with excellent grammar and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and project management skills
