📋 Job Responsibilities – Medical Writer II
As a Medical Writer II – Project / Pub Connect, you will be responsible for end-to-end publication and project coordination activities, including:
- Managing end-to-end (E2E) scientific publication workflows using Pub Connect
- Creating and maintaining publication plans, author approvals, and checklists
- Coordinating journal submissions and congress abstracts
- Recommending suitable target journals and handling pre-submission queries
- Performing dummy submissions and tracking journal/congress guideline updates
- Preparing submission packages, metadata, and documentation
- Providing real-time submission status updates to stakeholders
- Managing version control, placeholders, reference linking, and workflow tracking
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, SOPs, and client templates
- Conducting online clinical literature searches when required
- Supporting sponsors and cross-functional teams with system uploads
- Working within budgeted hours and communicating deviations proactively
- Maintaining continuous professional development in medical writing standards
Minimal travel may be required (<25%).
🎓 Qualifications & Skills Required
To be eligible for this Medical Writer II job at Syneos Health, candidates should have:
- A degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related discipline
- Relevant experience in medical writing, publication planning, or medical communications
- Hands-on experience with Pub Connect, Datavision, Veeva Vault PromoMats, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of journal and congress submission guidelines
- Excellent scientific writing, documentation, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a remote, fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in medical publishing
