Pfizer, a global leader in biopharmaceutical innovation, is hiring a Manager – Central Monitor, Data Surveillance (Clinical Data Sciences) for its Chennai location. This full-time, hybrid opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in risk-based monitoring (RBM), clinical data sciences, and centralized monitoring analytics.
As part of Pfizer’s Clinical Data Sciences (CDS) group within Clinical Development & Operations (CD&O), this role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, data quality, and regulatory compliance across global clinical trials.
🔹 Key Responsibilities – Manager, Central Monitor (RBM)
General Responsibilities
- Implement global risk-based monitoring strategies, processes, and standards
- Ensure high-quality analytics delivery aligned with study timelines
- Provide technical expertise in RBM system setup, testing, and validation
- Review study-level RBM outputs for signal detection and action management
- Collaborate cross-functionally and resolve operational or data-related conflicts
- Communicate effectively with global stakeholders and study teams
RBM System Setup
- Configure and test study-level RBM systems
- Define and align Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) with protocol and standards
- Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
Central Monitoring & Data Surveillance
- Perform centralized data monitoring and analytics review
- Identify, escalate, and track signals and actions
- Maintain RBM quality control documentation
- Partner with Clinical Data Scientists (CDS) to ensure risk mitigation and system release
🔹 Qualifications Required
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Clinical Research, or Business
- Hands-on experience in clinical data management, site monitoring, or database development
- Strong understanding of clinical trial operations and regulatory processes
- Proven project management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Phase I–IV clinical development
- Experience in CRF design, database setup, edit checks, DMPs, and data cleaning
- Familiarity with clinical trial databases and RBM tools
- Technical skills in SAS, Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, or relational databases
- Understanding of basic statistical principles
