Kenvue, the global consumer health leader behind iconic brands such as Johnson’s®, Neutrogena®, Aveeno®, Tylenol®, Listerine® and Band-Aid®, is hiring a Scientist – Toxicology & Clinical Safety for its Toxicology Resource Centre in Greater Mumbai, Maharashtra.
This is a full-time, fully onsite scientific role focused on toxicology risk assessment, clinical safety evaluation, and skin tolerance assessment for consumer healthcare and cosmetic products. The position is ideal for professionals with expertise in toxicology, clinical safety, regulatory toxicology, and medical writing, looking to work in a science-driven, global organization.
Key Responsibilities – Scientist Toxicology & Clinical Safety
- Perform toxicology risk assessments for ingredients, formulations, impurities, and degradants
- Conduct literature search and safety data review (preclinical & clinical)
- Prepare toxicology profiles and hazard assessments for cosmetic and consumer healthcare ingredients
- Evaluate and approve fragrances and flavors used in consumer products
- Calculate Margin of Safety (MoS) for cosmetic formulations
- Review and interpret clinical skin safety studies, including:
- Patch testing
- Irritation & sensitization studies
- Phototoxicity studies
- Assess skin tolerance from preclinical and clinical perspectives
- Coordinate clinical study material release and documentation
- Monitor studies conducted at CROs (Contract Research Organizations)
- Conduct packaging safety assessments for consumer healthcare products
- Review products across different development lifecycle stages
- Maintain documentation on Product Safety & Compliance SharePoint systems
Note: This role does not involve laboratory work and is primarily focused on scientific evaluation, documentation, and regulatory safety assessments.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Educational background in Toxicology, Clinical Safety, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related disciplines
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- In vitro / in vivo toxicology studies
- Skin tolerance or dermatological safety studies
- Toxicological risk assessment
- Regulatory toxicology for cosmetics or consumer products
- Strong medical and scientific writing skills
- Experience coordinating with CROs and third-party vendors
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Salary & Compensation (Indicative)
- ₹12,00,000 – ₹20,00,000 per annum (CTC)
