Job Responsibilities
Production – Bulk Manufacturing (Drug Substance / Antigens)
- Execute upstream and downstream processing of bacterial and viral antigens.
- Manage production batches with strict adherence to cGMP standards and timelines.
- Coordinate with QA and QC teams for accurate documentation and compliance.
- Ensure efficient vaccine, biosimilars, or injectable manufacturing processes.
Production Formulations (Vaccines)
- Blending: Oversee shift plans for formulation activities, operate autoclaves, blending vessels, CIP, and SIP skids.
- Filling: Manage filling shift operations, including vacuum cleaners, tunnel sterilizers, filling, and capping machines.
- Packing & Labelling: Handle vial labeling, VVM dot machines, Videojet and Control Print printers for batch coding, and Track & Trace systems. Monitor cold room and freezer temperatures.
Engineering (Biologics)
- Process Equipment: Perform breakdown and preventive maintenance of vial washing, filling, capping, autoclave, labeling machines, jacketed vessels, and lyophilization equipment.
- Instrumentation: Manage BMS operations, calibration, breakdown maintenance, and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA systems.
Quality Control (Biologics / Vaccines)
- Biochemical & Immunochemical Assays: Conduct total and free component estimation in polysaccharides, proteins, nucleic acids, and aluminum content. Perform analytical method validation and manage OOS/OOT investigations.
- Virology: Execute in-vitro viral testing for raw materials, in-process, bulk, and final lots. Review QC release testing and stability studies.
- Ensure ALCOA compliance and proficiency in molecular techniques like SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, PCR, and ELISA.
Quality Assurance (IPQA – Drug Substance / Drug Product)
- Ensure GMP compliance on the shop floor, including line clearance, dispensing, and preparation.
- Review and approve batch records, SOPs, PV, CV, and APS documents.
- Manage QMS, trending, batch release activities, and Master/Working Cell Bank reconciliation.
- Oversee fill-and-finish IPQA activities, including media fills, validations, change controls, deviations, and investigations.
Qualifications
- Education: M.Sc. (Life Sciences), B. Pharmacy, Diploma, B.Sc., or ITI.
- Experience: 2-8 years in vaccine manufacturing, biosimilars, or injectables.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of cGMP, ALCOA, PLC/SCADA systems, and molecular techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, PCR, ELISA).
- Attributes: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
