Job Description: Global Scientific Communications Intern

Purpose of the Role

Scientific data is at the heart of Lilly’s mission. The Global Scientific Communications (GSC) Intern will support teams in ensuring accurate, balanced, and timely dissemination of scientific information to regulators, healthcare professionals, and patients. This role is ideal for fresh graduates looking to build expertise in medical writing, clinical trial documentation, and scientific communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist in data integrity, scientific editing, clinical trial registry management, and document preparation.
  • Support the coordination of scientific disclosures, including drafting, editing, and reviewing documents.
  • Participate in quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Gain exposure to project management within GSC, including timeline management.
  • Develop therapeutic area knowledge (e.g., neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular, immunology).
  • Enhance scientific communication skills tailored to different audiences.
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices in scientific documentation.
  • Learn to use document management systems and databases relevant to GSC.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in science, health, communications, health economics, public health, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of a writing exercise (part of the evaluation process).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MA, MBBS) in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in medical/scientific writing, clinical research, or health outcomes.
  • Knowledge of clinical development, regulatory processes, or health economics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management tools.
