Open Positions: Engineering & Manufacturing at Biocon Biologics™
Biocon Biologics™ is hosting a recruitment drive on Sunday, May 11th, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (registrations close at 12:30 PM) at Biocon House, Electronic City, Phase 2, Bangalore. We invite candidates with 2-14 years of experience to apply for the following exciting positions:
1. Engineering & Maintenance:
We are seeking experienced professionals with expertise in the maintenance and operation of critical pharmaceutical equipment. Specific areas of expertise include:
- Pharmaceutical Equipment: Rotary Process (RPHPL), Centrifuges, Fermentors, Isolators, Lyophilizers, Vial Cartridges, PFS Filling systems.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Deep understanding and practical experience in implementing and maintaining pharmaceutical QMS standards within an engineering context.
- Utilities and Electrical Maintenance: Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems and utilities crucial for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
2. Instrumentation & Automation:
This role requires expertise in the instrumentation and automation systems used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Ideal candidates will possess experience in:
- Analytical Instrumentation: RPHPLC (Reversed-Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) column operation and maintenance.
- Process Automation: Centrifuge automation, tank automation, autoclave operation and maintenance.
- Control Systems: Programming and troubleshooting skills in PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), HMI (Human-Machine Interface), and BMS/EMS (Building Management System/Energy Management System) for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Practical experience in implementing and maintaining pharmaceutical QMS within an automation context.
3. DP Fill Finish:
We are seeking professionals with experience in the downstream processing and fill-finish operations of biopharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include:
- Medical Device Handling: Experience with medical device handling, assembly, and quality control.
- DP Packaging: Expertise in downstream packaging processes, including blister packaging, labelling, and cartoning.
- Visual Inspection: Conducting visual inspections, managing track & trace systems, and ensuring product quality.
- Equipment Qualification: Experience in qualifying and validating equipment used in the fill-finish process.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Proficient in QMS processes and documentation related to DP fill-finish operations.
4. Biosimilars Manufacturing (Upstream & Downstream):
Candidates with proven experience in both upstream and downstream processes of biosimilar manufacturing are highly encouraged to apply. This includes a strong understanding of cell culture, purification, and formulation.
5. Aseptic Manufacturing:
We seek candidates with proven experience in aseptic manufacturing processes, specifically in the operation and maintenance of:
- Isolators: Experience working within isolators and maintaining aseptic conditions.
- Autoclaves: Operation and maintenance of autoclaves for sterilization processes.
- Filling Systems: Experience with aseptic filling systems for biopharmaceutical products.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: M.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Sc. (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences), B.Sc., B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech, or Diploma in relevant engineering disciplines.
- Experience: 2-14 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
