Job Description

Core Purpose of the Role:

The Junior Executive will be responsible for tracking and ensuring accountability of shift activities in the lab, supporting scientists, and maintaining safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring overnight reactions and hydrogenation lab activities after working hours.
  • Preparing and filling inorganic chemicals required for lab operations.
  • Managing gas cylinders (oxygen, argon, CO₂, ammonia) for lab use.
  • Toxic material quenching and movement to designated stations.
  • Recording lab cold room temperature and ensuring proper functioning.
  • Overseeing fresh solvent filling and equipment shutdown when unused.
  • Preparing scrubber solutions for hoods and labs.
  • Responding to emergencies due to unexpected incidents.

Mandatory Safety Expectations:

  • Strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with Syngene’s safety and quality standards.
  • Completing mandatory training on data integrity, health, and safety.
  • Promoting a safety-first culture within the team.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Sc (Chemistry or related field preferred).
  • Experience: 0-3 years in a lab or logistics role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and computer operations.
    • Understanding of logistics (inbound/outbound), SEZ & US documentation, warehouse operations.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong oral and written communication.
    • Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
