Job Description: Scientific Editor
Indegene is seeking a Scientific Editor to join its dynamic team in Bengaluru. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and quality of medical and scientific content. As a Scientific Editor, you will play a key role in the Medical Legal Regulatory (MLR) review process, ensuring that all materials meet brand guidelines and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proofreading and Copyediting:
- Review and edit promotional and non-promotional content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
- Ensure adherence to brand/company guidelines and style requirements.
- Quality Assurance:
- Identify inconsistencies, awkward phrasing, and errors in scientific and medical content.
- Conduct word-to-word comparisons against previous versions to mark discrepancies.
- Reference Review:
- Verify reference lists for compliance with the AMA Manual of Style or other brand-specific guidelines.
- Final Production Review:
- Ensure all changes are implemented accurately and proofread materials during the final production phase.
- Attention to Detail:
- Exhibit a sharp eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
- Experience:Â 2 to 6 years of experience in copyediting pharmaceutical promotional and disease education materials.
- Skills:
- Strong written and oral English communication skills.
- Proficiency in editing documents with US or UK English requirements.
- Familiarity with style guides such as the AMA Manual of Style and Chicago Manual of Style.
- Solid understanding of scientific and medical terminologies.
