Job Description: Medical Science Liaison – Cardiovascular
BMS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our team in Kolkata. This field-based role focuses on the Cardiovascular (CV) therapy area and involves working closely with Thought Leaders (TLs), Healthcare Providers (HCPs), and other stakeholders to ensure the safe and appropriate use of BMS medicines.
The MSL will play a critical role in the pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases of an innovative CV molecule. This position requires a minimum of 60-70% field engagement, ensuring meaningful scientific dialogue and delivering high-impact data to advance medical practice and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- External Environment and Customer Focus
- Develop and maintain relationships with TLs, HCPs, and access stakeholders to address scientific, product-related, and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) inquiries.
- Execute medical interaction plans for key accounts (e.g., Army, Railways, CGHS) aligned with stakeholder needs and medical strategies.
- Present scientific and clinical data to HCPs, ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
- Gather and share medical insights to inform strategy development and improve patient outcomes.
- Contribution to Country Medical Plan
- Develop and implement territory-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans.
- Support cross-functional institution/account planning and contribute to medical programs/projects.
- Medical Support
- Provide scientific training and updates to internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance).
- Support promotional meetings by presenting unbiased scientific data and evaluating speakers.
- Clinical Trial Activities
- Support interventional and non-interventional research studies, including site identification and patient recruitment.
- Provide insights on study feasibility and support HCPs in Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) submissions.
- Patient Advocacy Programs
- Collaborate with patient advocacy groups to implement patient education programs.
- Support the creation of patient education materials.
Qualifications
- Education:Â MBBS, MD, BDS, or MDS.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of field medical experience in medical affairs (preferred).
- Experience in the Cardiovascular therapy area is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong scientific and clinical research background.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex scientific data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of clinical trial design, HEOR concepts, and the national healthcare environment.
- Languages:Â Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
