Job Responsibilities
The Process Data Engineer I – Product Development role at BMS involves collaborating with scientists and IT professionals to implement data-driven solutions. The key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Product Development (PD) scientists and IT teams to develop data engineering solutions.
- Mining structured and unstructured data to enable use case development.
- Collecting and curating data from multiple sources like electronic notebooks, spreadsheets, and instrument files.
- Applying data standards, ontologies, and metadata for better data integration and analysis.
- Supporting data discovery, access, and sharing within the organization.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and challenges.
- Communicating complex data analyses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working in a time zone that allows overlap with East Coast US working hours.
Qualifications Required
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytical Science, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences with an interest in Data Science or Computer Science.
- 0-3 years of experience in a data analytics role, preferably within the biotech or biopharma industry.
- Hands-on experience in working with large datasets, statistical software, and data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, AWS, Domino, GitHub, dbt, and Tableau.
- Experience in biotech product development or manufacturing operations is a plus.
