The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a trusted, field-based medical expert, engaging in meaningful scientific discussions to advance healthcare practices and enhance patient outcomes. MSLs dedicate 60-70% of their time interacting with Thought Leaders (TLs), Healthcare Providers (HCPs), and other stakeholders. This role supports the pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases of an innovative molecule in the cardiovascular therapy area.
Key Responsibilities
External Environment and Customer Focus
- Develop and maintain relationships with TLs, HCPs, and stakeholders to provide scientific and HEOR-related insights.
- Implement medical interaction plans with key accounts such as Army, Railways, and CGHS.
- Deliver accurate and unbiased scientific and clinical data.
- Continuously update knowledge of treatment strategies, unmet needs, and clinical trials.
- Collect and share meaningful medical insights to support strategy development.
- Ensure adherence to BMS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety information reporting.
Medical Plan Contribution
- Design and execute territory-specific medical plans aligned with therapeutic area objectives.
- Participate in developing and delivering scientifically relevant programs.
- Support patient advocacy programs, including the creation of educational materials.
Clinical Trial Support
- Identify and assess potential study sites and provide insights on clinical trial feasibility.
- Facilitate patient recruitment and discuss the safe and effective use of BMS products.
- Support investigators with Independent Sponsored Research (ISR) submissions and compliance with pharmacovigilance procedures.
Internal Collaboration
- Train internal stakeholders on medical/scientific updates and therapeutic advancements.
- Provide scientific support during promotional meetings, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines.
Qualifications
Education
- MBBS, MD, BDS, or MDS degree required.
Experience
- 1-2 years of field medical experience preferred.
- Expertise in cardiovascular therapy is a plus.
Skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Strong scientific acumen and the ability to present clinical data effectively.
- Knowledge of clinical trial design and healthcare systems.
- Familiarity with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
