Responsibilities in the Job

As a Literature Specialist in the Medical and Clinical division, your core activities will include:

  1. Supporting Global Safety Literature Screening:
    • Screen and review literature for Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSR) and signal detection.
    • Identify articles with relevant safety information for GSK’s marketed and developmental products.
  2. Performing Pharmacovigilance Literature Surveillance:
    • Analyze articles, abstracts, and citations to extract key safety information.
    • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and processes.
  3. Deliverables and Documentation:
    • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
    • Manage master drug lists and perform quality checks for triaged literature articles.
    • Collaborate with Signal Evaluation Risk Management (SERM) specialists for product-specific reviews.
  4. Demonstrating GSK Values:
    • Adhere to ethical guidelines and foster teamwork in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

To qualify for the role of Literature Specialist, you need the following:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or Pharmacology.
    • Preferred: Master’s degree or higher in Health Sciences.
  • Experience:
    • 2 to 4 years in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in drug safety, regulatory affairs, or medical affairs.
    • Working knowledge of pharmacovigilance regulations and methodologies.

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in scientific and medical terminology.
  • Attention to detail with a strong ability to evaluate data and draw conclusions.
  • Service-oriented attitude with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Competency in IT and web-based applications.
  • Flexibility to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in Engl
