Job Overview

The Medical Surveillance Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the medical monitoring of clinical studies, which includes:

  • Monitoring clinical laboratory data.
  • Composing detailed medical narratives.
  • Interfacing with investigator sites to ensure compliance with study protocols and the safety of subjects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Monitoring: Regularly review and evaluate laboratory results from a designated central laboratory.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct periodic analyses of laboratory data from the sponsor’s data management platform.
  • Preliminary Review: Compare current lab results against protocol-specific reference ranges, identifying significant changes and contacting investigator sites as necessary.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between the Medical Services Department, the sponsor-designated laboratory, and the IQVIA project team.
  • Trend Identification: Detect trends or significant shifts in lab results and notify IQVIA Medical Advisors.
  • Team Interaction: Engage with project teams to share critical information that may influence study objectives.
  • Project Support: Assist the Lead Medical Surveillance Specialist with project setup and participate in team meetings.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with laboratory practices through ongoing education or attending relevant seminars.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background: Fresh graduates with BDS, BHMS, or BAMS degrees.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to comprehend and synthesize scientific data from multiple sources.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in word processing and data management tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
