The Project Health Coordinator plays a crucial role in implementing and managing health services for employees on large or complex projects. This involves continuous health assessment, emergency planning, preventive care, and monitoring, ensuring that all employees receive appropriate healthcare and that medical systems function effectively. The role also requires maintaining health-related compliance through documentation, audits, and alignment with corporate policies

Primary Objectives

  • Health Management: Implement a robust health management system to monitor and safeguard employee health.
  • Emergency Coverage: Ensure the availability of 24/7/365 medical support, including emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) planning and execution.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive service enhancement through audits, inspections, and compliance checks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Health Monitoring and Management
    • Continuously assess employee health risks, safeguarding their wellbeing across all project sites.
    • Maintain communication with functional and hierarchical superiors regarding health and medical matters.
  2. Documentation and Compliance
    • Develop, revise, and manage project-specific health-related documents.
    • Ensure compliance with health plans, contractual agreements, and local medical regulations.
    • Implement and maintain Program GIPSI or equivalent systems to record medical services.
  3. Preventive Health Programs
    • Perform risk assessments and execute preventive activities, including immunization campaigns and alcohol and drug control programs.
    • Plan strategic healthcare initiatives to optimize service delivery and control costs.
  4. Medical Structures and Supplies Management
    • Equip and maintain medical facilities with essential equipment, medicines, and consumables according to the Health Plan.
    • Use Medicine Management Software to monitor stock levels and ensure availability.
  5. Emergency Preparedness and First Aid
    • Form a First Aid Team and conduct regular drills to validate the MEDEVAC plan.
    • Distribute first aid kits across strategic project locations to provide rapid emergency response.
  6. Subcontractor Health Supervision
    • Audit, supervise, and monitor subcontractors’ health management systems to ensure compliance.
    • Extend the health management system to minor subcontractor employees.
  7. Medical Services and Waste Management
    • Ensure 24/7/365 access to medical support through in-house staff and third-party providers.
    • Oversee medical waste management in compliance with regulations and standards.
  8. Health Administration and Reporting
    • Perform health administrative activities on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
    • Collaborate with operational managers to plan health initiatives aligned with corporate programs.
  9. Corporate Program Implementation
    • Actively contribute to the implementation of corporate prevention programs at all project sites.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in health management systems and emergency planning.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with superiors, employees, and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of medical waste management regulations and local healthcare laws.
  • Experience in auditing health services and conducting preventive campaigns.
  • Ability to manage medical supplies and logistics using digital tools (e.g., Medicine Management Software).
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing emergency evacuation plans (MEDEVAC).
