Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Code Assignments:

• Utilize ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding to assign accurate codes for various diagnoses and procedures.

1. Documentation Follow-Up:

• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify and follow up on any insufficient or unclear documentation.

1. Collaboration:

• Liaise with clinical staff for comprehensive documentation review to enhance accuracy and coding integrity.

1. Information Research:

• Conduct research on complex or unusual coding cases to ensure precise coding practices.

1. Patient Chart Review:

• Review patient charts and documents consistently for accuracy, assessing yesterday’s batch of patient notes for evaluation and coding.

Required Qualifications

• Educational Background:
• Any graduate degree is acceptable; however, a strong foundation in relevant medical fields is preferred.
• Experience:
• A minimum of 1 to 7 years in Medical Coding with a specialization in Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Urology, or General Surgery.
• Certifications:
• Successful completion of a certification program from reputable organizations like AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) or AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) is mandatory.
• Technical Skills:
